At the Smithville church of Christ we believe that God is good all the time, and all the time God is good!

We seek to practice New Testament Christianity in all its profound simplicity. We strive to be disciples of Jesus who love God and each other (John 13:34-35).  We demonstrate our love for God through faithful obedience to His word in all we preach and practice in worship assemblies as well as in our work for and service to Him (1 John 2:3-6). We demonstrate our love for one another through words but also through concrete acts of service and sharing and sacrifice, even as Christ did  (1 John 3:16-18 * Galatians 5:13 * Hebrews 13:16).

If you visit our assembly on Sunday morning, you will find Bible classes for all ages. These classes are designed to increase our understanding of God’s will and also to equip and encourage us to apply God’s word in our daily lives and relationships and responsibilities.

We seek to be a warm and welcoming congregation, but we will not ask you as a visitor to stand or be singled out in any way. Our aim in every worship assembly is to please God and serve Him acceptably with reverence and godly fear (Hebrews 12:28). Out of that desire we pattern our worship according to five elements / actions we see Christians practicing in New Testament times: #1 singing (Ephesians 5:19 * Colossians 3:16 * Hebrews 13:15) #2 praying (Acts 2:42 * 1 Timothy 2:1-2, 8) #3 preaching (Acts 2:42 * Colossians 1:28) #4 giving (1 Corinthians 16:2) #5 communion / the Lord’s Supper (Matthew 26:26-29 * Acts 20:7 * 1 Corinthians 10:16 * 1 Corinthians 11:23-30).

Thanks for dropping by our website. Let us invite you to also drop by any of our Bible classes and / or worship assemblies and check us out! We hope and pray you will. And we hope you will find them to be marvelously simple but simply marvelous.

If you have any questions not answered on this site, please feel free to contact us directly via phone or email.

God bless you as you seek to know Him and do His will.
